Crabgrass is an annual and quick-spreading plant that thrives in the summer months. It grows best in lawns that lack proper access to nutrients, including water and fertilizer. When they die in the fall, they leave large spots in the lawn that make it easy for them to germinate again in the spring.
We use pre-emergent fertilizers to protect your lawn from up-croppings of crabgrass. This invisible protective layer stops crabgrass seeds from taking hold. These must be applied early in the spring, before the crabgrass is growing, so please speak to your lawn specialist immediately if you know crabgrass is an issue on your lawn.
